Princeton To Celebrate Pride Month With Picnic, Flag Raising Friday

PRINCETON, NJ – June is Pride Month and there are a host of events happening here in Princeton to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. Princeton will raise the Pride Flag at Monument Hall on Friday at 12 p.m. Mayor Mark Freda and Council members will host a short program before the ceremony The celebrations continue with the Pride Picnic. The event will feature music, games, activities and giveaways. The Princeton Community Pride Picnic will be held at the Princeton Shopping Center at 5 p.m. DJ Mona of Mon Amie Events NYC will be spinning some tunes, there will be a bubble show by OMG Bubbles, hoola hoop with Color Me Hoopy, queer yoga and more. Attendees can bring a picnic dinner or grab a bite at one of the many dining options available on-site that includes pizza, tacos, salads, sandwiches, fresh chicken, paella and more. Rita's Italian Ice will give out free water ice. Artist Marlon "7ovechild" Davila will lead the community in creating a large mural. The rain date is set for Sunday. Sen. Andrew Zwicker and local leaders will be present. Nonprofit and community groups will have tables set up with activities and information. After the picnic, there will be an Outdoor Pride Dance Party at the Arts Council of Princeton from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
