Description

Hello everyone! I am looking to adopt a dog that will be trained as a therapy dog to go to school with me. I work as a school counselor and this has been approved by the school. I am not very picky on breed or size, but prefer to steer away from “aggressive breeds” since it can make people nervous. I know this is an unfortunate stereotype and I know pits and Rottweilers can be the sweetest, but I am sure you can understand. A hypoallergenic dog would be ideal, since some students have allergies. I live in a small apartment with access to a fenced backyard downstairs. I live with my 2.5 year old. We live an active lifestyle and are always out at the playground, arboretum, beach, and I would like to take this dog to the dog park regularly as well. Ultimately I am looking for a young or adult dog with a sweet and confident temperament that already has a basic level of training (potty, sit, stay, car rides, socialization with people and animals). Absolutely no signs of aggression, and loves adventures and meeting new people. I would need a dog who is great with other dogs, walks well on a leash, and does not react by barking when out and about or in the apartment. I’m looking for a dog who loves a good walk or even hike but can also chill on a comfy dog bed in my office during the day. I know the right dog is out there and I’m willing to wait for the perfect fit! Please text or email if you think this situation might be a good fit for your doggo. I am not willing to pay a rehoming fee, but will pay for supplies if necessary. I would rather spend that money on establishing pet insurance and ensuring I have all the needed supplies. This dog will have the best life and I am looking for someone who Is in a position where they have to rehome and are looking for the right fit, not to make money.
