New Finance Director Appointed In Oswego

OSWEGO, IL — A new finance director has been appointed for the Village of Oswego. Andrea Lamberg began her role May 20, overlapping with Mark Horton before his retirement June 10, officials said. Lamberg came to Oswego from Hinsdale, where she worked as finance director. Before that, she worked in Park Ridge, Lincolnwood and Brown County, Wisconsin, accumulating more than 20 years of experience in the finance world. In Oswego, Lamberg is responsible for compiling the annual budget for Board review and adoption, completing the annual audit and managing the village's financial assets. RELATED: Oswego Finance Director To Retire After 31-Year Career "Andrea brings a wealth of experience that will serve Oswego as we face many of our most immediate challenges, including funding a new water source and investing in our infrastructure," Village President Troy Parlier said in a statement. "The Village's financial management will be in excellent hands." The finance director has received numerous accolades, including the Government Finance Officer's Association awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting and Distinguished Budget Presentation. A certified public accountant, Lamberg received her degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. "I am honored to serve the residents and businesses of the Village of Oswego as their next Finance Director," Lamberg said in a statement. "Mark has done an outstanding job creating and maintaining a solid financial foundation – one committed to integrity, transparency, accuracy, and timeliness. Alongside the exceptional finance team Mark built, I will continue this work to ensure the Village's ongoing financial stability." She continued: "It is an exciting time to join the leadership team and work with them to create a roadmap for Village operations, outline of future capital investment projects, and a financial plan for the Village's future."
