11 June, 2022

Description

Join Garden horticulturist and beekeeper Riki Bonnema for an engaging and informative Second Saturday Seminar. An adventurer at heart, Riki explores South Florida’s native habitats and then uses what she discovers to introduce native plant diversity into the Garden. This diversity increases the Garden’s sustainability by reducing the use of supplemental water and fertilizer while also building habitats for native wildlife. You’ll enjoy Riki’s informative walking tour about Florida ethnobotany (the relationship between people and plants) as you learn how past Florida inhabitants utilized plants for their daily needs including food, medicine, tools, shelter, poisons and more. Class is free but please RSVP.
