OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn police are looking for three men they said shot at a driver as he was pumping gas Tuesday afternoon at an Oak Lawn gas station. Around 5 p.m., police responded to a report of gunshots at the BP Amoco station at 110th Street and Pulaski Road. Officers said three men wearing reflective construction vests had jumped out of a black Dodge and opened fire at the driver of a white Chevrolet Suburban SUV who was pumping gas. The SUV driver ran toward the gas station, then ran back to his vehicle and drove away. The gunmen fled at high speed in the Dodge, north on Pulaski Avenue, police said. License plate readers in the area captured the plate on the fleeing car: H414418. It had been reported stolen. "At this time appears white Suburban was the target of the offenders," said Oak Lawn Police Chief Dan Vittorio. During the shooting, police said an innocent motorist suffered a graze wound to the shoulder when his vehicle was struck by gunfire. The motorist was treated and released at a local hospital. Police released surveillance images showing two of the three suspects sitting in the front seat of a black Dodge wearing reflective construction vests. Anyone with information is asked to call the Oak Lawn Police Department's detective division at 708-907-4051, or text tips to 708-613-8477.
