Job Summary We are seeking a Diesel Technician to join our automotive repair team! The ideal candidate is a hardworking individual who is mechanically inclined and wants to excel in the automotive industry. J’s Performance Automotive is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited; to diagnostic, maintenance, repairing and fabrication. Responsibilities 1. Ensure vehicles are completed and clean when returned to customers. 2. Identify problems and perform maintenance and repair to customers’ vehicles. 3. Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority and availability. 4. Review work orders, discuss work with supervisors, complete a diagnostic review of the vehicle, and determine if any additional repairs are needed. 5. Inspect and monitor work areas, and examine tools and equipment for damage. 6. Adhere to all safety procedures while maintaining a clean and safe workstation. 7. To complete tasks in the allotted time established by the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). Essential Skills & Abilities 1. Inspect vehicles for damage and record findings so necessary repairs can be made. 2. Lift and move, parts, machines, tires and equipment. 3. Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications. 4. Troubleshoot fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems, using electronic testing equipment. 5. Test electronic computer components in automobiles to ensure proper operation. 6. Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups. 7. Follow checklists to ensure all parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings and other potentially troublesome areas. 8. Repair and service air conditioning, heating, engine cooling and electrical systems. 9. Change spark plugs, fuel filters, air filters and batteries in hybrid electric vehicles. 10. Repair or replace parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, bearings, carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters and pumps. 11. Install, adjust, or repair hydraulic or electromagnetic automatic lift mechanisms used to raise and lower automobile windows, seats and tops. 12. Conduct visual inspections to identify cracks, gouges, abrasions, discoloration, broken fibers, loose brackets, damaged gaskets or other problems. 13. Diagnose and replace or repair engine management systems or related sensors. 14. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, checking fluids, changing brake pads, and checking sensors. 15. Maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service. 16. Willing to learn new skills as required. 17. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Required Experience, Training & Education Valid Driver’s Licenses ASE Certifications (not required, but recommended) Schedule & Location 8 am to 5 pm = 5 days a week at J’s Performance Automotive.
