HILLSBORO, OR — Market of Choice is coming to Hillsboro, but don't plan on doing your shopping there quite yet. The Eugene-based grocery chain announced last month that its 12th location is planned for South Hillsboro.
Market of Choice, a family-owned business that promotes itself as an "Oregon grocer" that carries more than 7,000 Oregon products, said that construction on the new site is expected to begin next year with a target of opening n 2024.
The company said in a release that the 35,000 square-foot store will be at Reeds Crossing Town Center, by the intersection of Tualatin Valley Highway and Cornelius Pass Road. It will be the only grocer there.
The chain is one of the first major outlets to target South Hillsboro, according to the city.
The city has been touting growth in the neighborhood. In March, the school district started construction on a new elementary school for the area. Officials said it's expected to have around 600 students as more families start moving to the area.
