ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of drug possession, gun violations, domestic battery, possession of a stolen vehicle, DUI and driving violations. Here is information from the reports: Drugs Jose Velasquez, 19, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at York and North on charges of possession of more than 100 grams of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and transportation of open alcohol by a driver. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Gun violations Joel Jimenez, 30, of Chicago, was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Thursday at York and Grantley on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm and ammunition without a firearm owner's identification card, possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and speeding. According to a police report, a search of his car yielded a concealed gun. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Domestic battery Jeffery Grisby, 26, of Strom Lake, Iowa, was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at Courtyard by Marriott, 370 N. Route 83, on two counts of domestic battery. According to a police report, Grisby battered the victim and then took the victim's phone and cash. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Stolen car Roberto Mercado, 22, of Chicago, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North York on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and driving with a suspended license. DUI Jazzline Sanchez, 26, of Chicago, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Roosevelt and Butterfield on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. She was released on bond. Firuq Keliby, 22, of Chicago, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at Clinton and North on charges of DUI (drugs), improper lane usage and failure to signal. According to a police report, he admitted to just having smoked marijuana. He was released on bond. Kizzy Moore, 43, of Chicago Heights, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at North and Route 83 on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, disobeying a traffic signal and failure to wear a seat belt. She was released on bond. Pedro Morales, 48, of Mount Prospect, was arrested shortly after midnight Monday at Interstate 290 and Lake on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. He was involved in a single-car crash. He was released on bond. Resisting officer Jefferson Martinez-Gomez, 19, of Bensenville, was arrested about 9 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of North Addison on a charge of resisting or obstructing an officer. He was released on bond. Driving violations Annamarie Mimler, 25, of Elmhurst, was cited about 8 a.m. Friday at Harrison and Swain on a charge of driving with a suspended license. She was released on bond. John Bishof Jr., 74, of Oak Brook, was cited about 6 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of South York on a charge of failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle. He was released on bond. Samantha Felix, 25, of Chicago, was cited shortly before midnight Friday at North and Interstate 290 on charges of driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, no front registration and improper window tinting. She was released on bond. Anthony Valdez, 23, of Elmhurst, was cited about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Lake and Walnut on charges of no valid driver's license and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond. Desiree Lampley, 23, of Milwaukee, was cited about 1 a.m. Saturday at Lake and Walnut on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released on bond. Enchelle Jones, 37, of Bolingbrook, was cited about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Interstate 290 and York on charges of driving with a suspended license, expired registration and improper lighting. She was released on bond. Tyshaun Roach, 20, of Chicago, was cited about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of South York on charges of no valid driver's license, improper lighting and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.
