Hello! 30-something male Kenoshan here.  Looking for some folks that want to start a band that plays original songs, or a band already in existence that's looking to add a member.   Mostly, I have an alternative rock, punk, and folk background.  I fit best on bass, but grew up playing guitar and singing.  I can also play drums and some keys.  I have a lot of experience playing in front of people, but it's been a while since I have, and that was mostly somewhere else.  I'm more-than-open to playing with people of all different ethnicities, genders, orientations, et cetera.  I play to serve the song.  I'm willing to step outside of my comfort zone to make new music and do work outside of band practice.  I'm also willing to try non-traditional set-ups (bands that aren't just guitar - bass - drums). I know it's a bit intangible to just plan on starting something totally unique, so I've outlined a few different types of bands that I think I'd fit into: - a folky indie rock band: think Wilco, Andrew Bird, Bright Eyes, Land of Talk - a refined punk rock band: think OFF!, Bad Religion, Fugazi - an instrumental, post rock band: think El Ten Eleven, GY!BE, Explosions in the Sky - a doom metal / desert rock band: think Melvins, Electric Wizard, Black Sabbath, QOTSA These are just some general starting points, and I'd never want to start a copycat project. I could have gone on with more examples, but this post is already pretty long. I'd like to do something that's relatively original. And I'm in favor of combining genres where it works. You're gonna need to prove you're real somehow. I have recordings and whatnot. Peace
