Description

Maintenance and Repairs • Perform maintenances and repairs on various pieces of equipment including but not limited to automobiles, service trucks, dump trucks, portable compressors, trailers,, electronic message boards and signs, towable light towers, and other related heavy construction equipment. • Perform preventive maintenance checks and adjustments and such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; changes filters and oil, and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment • Examine sources of mechanical problems by either visually inspecting or using electronic testing instruments on diesel and gasoline powered trucks and other related heavy construction equipment. • Provide assistance on repair and rebuild engines, standard and automatic transmissions, clutch and brake systems, generator and starter systems, differentials and drive systems, pumps, steering system, hydraulic systems, tandem axles, converters, electrical systems, air circulation systems, fuel injection and other major heavy equipment components. • Fabricate, modify, and install special equipment or replacement parts using, welders, torch sets, plasma cutter and metal cutting saws. • Document service logs and maintenance records on vehicles and motorized equipment as assigned by the supervisor. • Understand and follow work orders, repair manuals and other oral or written instructions. Safety • Coordinate with Safety Department to ensure a safe work environment is maintained • Ability to maneuver a variety of on-highway vehicles and/or various construction equipment in compliance with operating instructions, warnings and precautions specific to the equipment. • Properly store and secure ALL flammable and hazardous material in designated storage area. • Wear all Personal Protection Equipment as required Driving • Uphold a valid California Driver’s License while practicing safe & professional driving habits based upon your duties. • Comply with California driving rules and regulations • Perform repairs or maintenance services at designated sites through scheduled or unscheduled routes. Physical Requirements • Physical ability to perform work which involves frequent bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying of weights up to 50 pounds • Able to stand, walk, lift, pull and push for an entire shift. • Must have good eyesight which includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. • Demonstrate the ability to hear and accurately interpret mechanical, technical and business information in an environment subject to noise, vibrations, etc. • Able to withstand variation of temperatures in a typical shop environment Other Essential Functions • Diligently work in a deadline intensive work environment and posses organizational and multi-tasking skills as needed. • Use excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to deal positively with senior management, employees, vendors and customers • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of facility and equipment including but not limited to sweeping, dusting, polishing equipment and tools, and emptying waste containers • Maintain a professional and ethical manner at all times while demonstrating a superior level of hospitality to our customers, vendors, and staff. • Perform all other duties as assigned
