I rented a third floor apartment unit from the Captain Simeon Potter House mid-pandemic. At that time there was a housing shortage and I was searching for a long term rental. I rented the apartment from the proprietors Ms. Johanna Salvo on a short term weekly-monthly bases. I was allowed to store my brand new bike in the basement. After four months residing at the Captain Simeon Potter House, I found a long term rental and I gave notice and moved out. On the day of my move February 2021, I wasn’t allowed to open the basement doors to move my bike out. Later in the spring I attempted to collect my bike but the proprietor threatened me with police action for trespassing. Later I attempted to go to small claims court but proprietor never responded, in March 2022 I made another attempt to collect my bike and the proprietor refused to allow me to collect my bike. I reported proprietor to the BBB, local police and an attorney and the proprietor has refused to allow me to collect my property-bike! Currently the Captain Simeon Potter House still has my property-brand new bike. They have stolen my property if you see this bike in Newport contact me.
