Join Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) in person at DCR’s Hopkinton MA State Park on Saturday, June 18th for Against the Tide. Now in its 30th year, this swimming, running and walking event raises the funds used for MBCC’s programs to educate about toxic chemicals that can cause breast cancer, and its work to eliminate these toxins from the environment where we and our children and grandchildren live. Register at www.mbcc.org/swim. Against the Tide events can be enjoyed by adults and children of all ages and abilities. Register now for one or more events at mbcc.org/swim. Events include 1-mile recreational and competitive swims, a USMS Sanctioned 1-mile swim (Sanction #022-W003), ½-mile recreational swim, 5K and 10K runs, and a 3-mile fitness walk. MBCC is excited to have award-winning journalist Nicole Estaphan, a reporter and producer for WCVB Channel 5’s Chronicle, to emcee the Hopkinton event on June 18th. MBCC will also host a virtual Against the Tide from June 11th to June 18th. The virtual events include 1-mile recreational and competitive swims, ½-mile recreational swim, 5K and 10K runs, and a 3-mile walk. All participants will receive an event t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded for the top swim and run finishers of the in-person event. Registration for both the virtual and in-person options is $40 for an individual participant and $100 for a family registration (up to 5 family members). Please note that if MBCC cannot hold the in-person event due to Covid restrictions, registrations will be transferred to the virtual event. Refunds will not be issued. Later in the summer, MBCC will also host the 23rd Annual Against the Tide in person at DCR’s Brewster MA State Park on August 13th, and another virtual Against the Tide from August 6th to August 13th.
