Description

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — Zephyrhills Public Library will host its 2022 summer reading activities. The in-person summer reading programs, "Oceans of Possibilities," will be held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., June 8 through July 27. These programs will be held in the Zephyrhills City Hall Council Chambers, 5335 8th St., and are all free and geared to school-aged children in kindergarten through fifth grade with their caregivers. The programs generally last about 45 minutes. These programs will feature a special guest each week, including a musical instrument demonstration, puppet show, fire safety demonstration, Zephyrhills police K9, cooking demonstration and other guests. Besides in-person reading activities, the library is offering a "Read to Win: Student Summer Reading Contest" to encourage reading over summer break. The library's reading packets and logs are now available through the summer, with prizes on display for readers in kindergarten through 12th grade to view. Participants will need to keep a log of the books they read in June and July, then turn the log into the library during the last week of July. The deadline is Saturday, July 30. There will be a random drawing for prizes at that time. Winners will be notified via phone or email. Also, the library is continuing its "Take It and Make It" crafts for youth to pick up and make at home. For additional questions and information, call 813-780-0064 or visit the Zephyrhills Public Library at 5347 8th St., Zephyrhills. The Zephyrhills Public Library hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
