Woodhaven Construction is hiring experienced framers or apprentices who have a passion or at least an interest in carpentry and the building process. We are seeking detail oriented quality minded individuals to join a team building complicated custom homes throughout San Juan county. Applicants from surrounding areas (i.e. Orcas, Friday Harbor, Anacortes) are welcome to apply. Candidates commuting from outside Lopez Island will be offered a travel assistance package. Responsibilities and Duties Applicants will be responsible for the measuring, cutting, fitting, and installation of residential wood framing and sheathing. And must posses the following capabilities: The ability to lift heavy loads regularly. The ability to wear tool bags constantly. The ability to transport yourself to work on time and maintain sobriety through the work day. The ability to smile and maintain a positive attitude through adverse weather conditions. The ability to work 4 - 10hr shifts with a long weekends Experienced Framers should posses the following skills: Minimum 4 years experience working in outdoor carpentry Read and communicate feet, inches and fractions from a tape measure. Make square and exact cuts repeatedly on a multitude of framing materials. Knowledge of floor, wall and roof layout and the construction process of all phases of framing a custom home. The ability to sheet a roof of any pitch. Apprentice Framers Should expect a rigorous study routine and a deluge of job specific information to be constantly conveyed to them. A structured review schedule is in place to compensate a rapidly changing skillset.
