Description

Wills for Heroes needs volunteer attorneys, notaries and witnesses to host clinics to provide free basic estate plans for first responders and their significant others. Volunteer attorneys are needed to meet with first responders on an individual basis, review the estate planning questionnaires completed by the first responders and generate their estate planning documents with the use of a laptop and HotDocs, a document assembly program. Attorneys do not need any prior estate planning experience (but attorneys must attend an OnDemand training prior to volunteering as attorneys at a clinic). Each clinic will have an estate planning specialist for volunteer attorneys to use as a resource for estate planning questions. Notaries are needed to notarize the signatures of first responders when they execute their estate plans. Witnesses are need to substantiate the signatures of first responders when they execute their estate plans. Please review the Frequently Asked Questions document for volunteers here. TAGS
