This workshop came about as a reflection project, prompted by my mindfulness & buddhism practices - which also birthed my mission in life: to reduce the suffering in the workplace. At first glance, this is a paper mache bowl; however, it’s much more. It’s a statement about how the current job seeking, application & hiring process is broken - which in return, breaks people. This piece is made up of countless resumes and cover letters I’ve curated in the past. It represents the emptiness we can feel when going through this process, particularly when faced with rejection. At the same time, it represents the emptiness of the ‘idea of work’: our value as humans is not dependent on what we do or accomplish!! I reclaimed my power by seeing through the illusion of rejection, which allowed space to embrace that notion that we are enough, just as we are! And you can too through this healing "work"shop.
