WEST FALLS CHURCH, VA — Twelve units were damaged Sunday by a two-alarm fire at the Fairfield Crossing Apartments in West Falls Church on Sunday afternoon, according to posts on Fairfax County Fire & Rescue's official Twitter account.
County fire units responded for the report of a fire in an apartment building 2900 block of Dover Lane. Firefighters called in a second alarm, which brought other units to the scene for assistance. They included units from the Fairfax City Fire Department.
By 3:23 p.m., the bulk of the fire had been extinguished and crews were hitting hot spots.
The fire displaced an unknown number of residents.
Inspectors responded to the scene to determine the cause and the extent damage that was the result of the fire.
