Woman Charged With DWI Accused Of Nearly Striking NH Trooper Cruiser

EXETER, NH — A woman from Manchester is expected in court in July after being accused of drunken driving and nearly hitting a state police cruiser at an accident scene on Sunday. Around 6:15 p.m., Troop A New Hampshire State Police troopers, as well as Exeter police and firefighters, were sent to a crash on Route 101 near Mile Marker 124 just east of Exit 9. When they arrived, they found a vehicle had crashed through a median guardrail, crossed both westbound lanes, and then drove into the woods. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Daniel Landry, 45, of Lynn, Massachusetts. There was also a child in the vehicle, Amber Lagace, the public information officer for the department, said. "Both were transported from the scene to Exeter Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries," she said. "No other vehicles were involved in this collision. The crash remains under investigation and no charges have currently been filed." The right-hand lane of Route 101 west was closed for around 45 minutes while Landry's vehicle was removed from the woods. During this time period, a driver was accused of nearly striking a trooper cruiser while driving by the crash scene. A trooper was inside the cruiser at the time. Lagace said the trooper left the scene and pulled over the vehicle. The driver, Daianara Rosario, 42, of Manchester was later arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge after a roadside investigation. She was also charged with motorist duties when approaching a highway emergency or violation of the state's "move over" law. "The law requires motorists maintain a reduced speed and move over when encountering a highway emergency such as a crash or a police traffic stop," Lagace said. Rosario was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in Brentwood Circuit Court on July 5.
