Press release from Meridian Community College: May 27, 2022 Meridian Community College student Tyler Borntrager of Macon received the first A. Wayne Sullivan, M.D., Memorial Scholarship. Borntrager has completed two semesters in the College's Radiologic Technology Program with a grade point average of 3.46 on a 4.0 scale. The six consecutive semester program is a general education and clinical training program designed to prepare students for entry-level radiography. He plans to work as an X-ray technologist in a hospital close to his hometown and hopes to pursue other modalities in the radiology field. The scholarship, which is funded through the MCC Foundation, is named in memory of Dr. Sullivan, the first radiologist to practice in Meridian, conducting both a diagnostic practice and radiation therapy in private practice and at Meridian hospitals. He also established the College's Radiologic Technology Program. Dr. Sullivan died in December 2018 at the age of 96. This press release was produced by Meridian Community College.
