EP Recreation Department Prepares Summer Day Camps

With schools now headed for completion this Spring/Summer, the Evergreen Park Recreation Department stands ready to provide resident children with a safe, fun, active place to spend a few weeks over summer vacation. The Department's Summer Day Camp program has been a popular one for decades and they are putting the final touches on the 2022 edition. The Preschool and Mini Day Camps are filling up quickly, but there are plenty of spots available for the eight-week Full Day Camp, which begins on Monday, June 13. Youngsters in this camp can swim twice a week, make art and craft projects, participate in indoor/outdoor games and enjoy many special event days, including some field trips. The camp is open to Evergreen Park residents only who are entering first grade through sixth grade. Pickup takes place at the Activity Center, 3220 W. 97th Street beginning at 9am. Pickup takes place at the Community Center, 3450 W. 97th Street at 3pm; or, at the high school on swim days. All campers can bring their own lunch and wear comfortable play clothes. Sunscreen a must! The camp runs $900 for eight weeks, and parents can register their child at the Community Center. A current report card from any Evergreen Park elementary school must be provided. Our Director and Supervisors are certified teachers and all counselors are high school graduates who are either in college or college-bound.
