Learn to Play Chess!

Description
Hi! My name is Chance. Are you wanting to learn a thing or two about chess over the board, face to face? I'm your guy! I'm currently offering Chess lessons and tutoring to beginner level players. For newer players, we start from scratch. Learning how to set up the board, what all of the pieces do, general chess strategy for Openers, Middle Game and End of the Game. Beginner level players will also be learning parts of the game like time control and game notation, how to write out the moves that are made in a game to study for themselves later. In time as you grow, we will get into the more advanced parts of chess and learn to play more crafty ways to get an advantage against your opponent. Advanced opening theory, systems, trap openings and gambits! This is your time; you are paying! Your daylight is valuable to me and doubly more so valuable to you. If you are a beginner player and enjoy the game or my lessons, I will happily teach you a few Gambits (An Opening to confuse and throw your opponent off their game) or trap openings. For both Beginners and Intermediate players, I will put together a series of games/players to study to further your knowledge with a study planner guide for no extra charge. About me: I am from Cincinnati and currently living in Independence Kentucky with my wonderful girlfriend. I'm 25 years old, graduated from college with a degree in IT and have a Desktop Support certificate associated with my degree. I like to think of myself as a very technical learner with a high ability to problem solve. I have been playing Chess on and off my entire life but began getting back more into the game during the pandemic. I am Fully Vaccinated and Mask Friendly! My to-date highest rating in Blitz Chess (Each player having 5 minutes of time to play) is 1721 achieved on December of last year, 2021. Novice (<800) Beginner (800-1099) Intermediate (1100-1399) Intermediate Level 2 (1400-1699) Advanced (1700-1999) I am more than welcome to do a meet up in a public space like a library or have a meet and greet in my apartment if you'd prefer a less than public area to let yourself feel like you can unwind! Air Conditioning is a glorious thing with this rising heat. However, we do also have a communal area nestled outside of our apartment with several picnic tables that we can happily inhabit and play some chess at! Don't want to roll solo? Bring a buddy! I will happily instruct 2 people at the same time; however, the same $25 hourly rate will apply for friends/companions. For 3 people at a time, however, I can definitely move the price downward to accompany. A house that learns to play together plays to learn together. (And a little friendly competition can always spark more desire to learn!) Feel free to reach out with any questions that you have, and I will do my best to answer them. AGES: 8+
