Click here to learn more. Here are the top three stories in Savannah today: The Savannah Police Department has made an arrest in the Memorial Day shooting that occurred in Tatemville. Jarquez Tarik Odum, 22-years-old, has been charged with aggravated battery, cruelty to children first degree, and reckless conduct after allegedly injuring two people during the shooting. The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the department or CrimeStoppers. (Press Release Desk)The Big Savannah Toy Drive has been honored with the 2022 Communicator Award of Excellence. The donation campaign supports the Coastal Children's Advocacy Center. Participants can donate through a sign-up sheet containing children's wishlists or choose from a list of suggested gifts online. The Big Savannah Toy Drive is returning this year but the dates have not yet been announced. (Savannah CEO) Five people died Saturday on the Wilmington River near Savannah during a boating crash. Four of the victims were from the same family - the local Lefflers. It is currently not clear how the boating crash occurred but 45-year-old Mark Stegall has been charged with boating under the influence.
