WE NEED A BASSIST!
Meets
Boulder CO
Description
Free Range Marmot is currently looking for a versatile bass player on dozens of cross-generational songs! Our current bass player is moving out of the country in July and we need to find someone to fill her shoes. The group currently has one female vocalist (we're searching for another one so if you are female and sing, all the better), two male vocalists/guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer. Full disclosure: any money we make goes into the band's bank account. We use gig money for equipment purchases, buying merch to sell at gigs, etc. In fact, we used some of our earnings to record and release our first EP a couple summers ago and are finishing up our second EP which should be out in the next couple of months! In other words, we all have day jobs and at this point none of us is getting paid for this. (unless you count the fun we have, then everyone is super rich....AND famous) We rehearse pretty religiously once a week for a couple of hours. Talent wise, we are competent musicians who have been playing together for many years. We range in age from late 20s to 60s if that matters to you. We are always excited to learn new songs, are able to pick things up pretty quickly, AND have a lot of fun doing it! We have played at places like Nissi's in Lafayette, The Laughing Goat on Pearl Street in Boulder, The Opera House in Longmont, The Fox in Boulder (as part of a music showcase), and Globe Hall in Denver. We also do private shows such as annual Halloween gigs and housewarming parties. We play originals (with more always in the pipeline) and a lot of covers. Check out “Free Range Marmot” on your favorite streaming service to hear some of our songs and see if our style matches yours. Our covers include, but are not limited to: Wish I Knew You (The Revivalists), Long Train Running (The Doobie Brothers), Paris (Grace Potter and the Nocturnals), Loveshack (B-52s), Bohemian Like You (The Dandy Warhols), and lots, lots more. You should be excited to learn new songs. You should also be willing to devote one to two rehearsals per week to the group and you should be flexible in your schedule to gig out about once every month or so. Fun fact: A group of marmots is called a madness. Come join our madness!
