Volunteers Needed for Neurostimulation Research

Jobs

Description

You are invited to participate in a research study examining brain activity with electrical stimulation. The goal of our research is to better understand how electrical stimulation makes changes to language functions. Participants will undergo Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI – a way to take pictures of the brain without using harmful radiation or injected dyes). Participants will also undergo transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS), which uses a non-invasive, low level of electricity applied to the scalp while completing simple language tasks. Electroencephalography (EEG) or magnetoencephalography (MEG) will also be used to passively measure electrical activity in the brain. This study, which will take place at the Medical College of Wisconsin, will include five or six 1-3 hour visits. Participants will receive $25/visit. Participants must be 18 years of age or older, right-handed, native speakers of English, and have at least a high school education. If you are interested in participating, please click on the link below, select “Enrollment” on the left side of the page, and then complete the questionnaire. To help us determine your eligibility for the study, it is important that you answer all questions completely and honestly. If you are eligible, we will contact you to schedule your first session. If you have additional questions, please contact the study coordinator at [email protected]. Please fill out an enrollment form at:
