Description
Looking for a singing and songwriting partner. I've been around the block in the music world, for better and worse. I'm 43, I've played with a lot of cool people, and I have connections in "the industry," but I've never found someone to bounce things off of. I'd like to form an acoustic duo first, record, form a band around said duo, and then go where the winds take us. I have lots of experience on stage in other cities, but haven't really played Tucson except when playing here on out-of-town shows.
Jayhawks, The Band, Uncle Tupelo, Gram Parsons, Byrds, Petty, Stones, Neil Young, Eagles, Wilco, Son Volt, My Morning Jacket, Calexico, Ryan Adams, Counting Crows, Black Crowes, Fleetwood Mac, Rilo Kiley, Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, Killers, Oasis, SONGWRITERS...
I play acoustic and electric (lead) guitar well, piano and keys okay, can make something musical happen with a banjo or a mandolin, and I sing lead and high harmony,.. not a yeller or a screamer. People have said I sound like Tom Petty, Gary Louris, Matthew Sweet, but I have more range than those guys. I know how to record and I'm versed in music publishing. I believe music is more about community than being cool, though I think being cool is pretty important, too, from a marketing standpoint.
Send demos, even if they are recorded from your phone- talent transcends bad recordingsā¦
