Warehouse Worker: Job Type: Temp to Hire – 40hr Week + OT Available Shifts Available: 6:00am-2:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm – Monday to Friday Full Job Description: Warehouseman/Order Picker Job Description Position Summary: This position promotes a “team” approach by cooperating with other staff to ensure customer orders are pulled, built, and loaded per within established department timetables. Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to safe practices, policies and procedures. Position responsibilities: • Evaluates orders to ensure quality on time delivery • Consistently maintains a low number of miss picks. • Reads orders, verify inventory and pulls items from shelves or bins. • Prepares orders for packing and shipping • Works independently of others but be able and willing to work as part of a team. • Maintain attendance according to company policy. • Assists in other departments as needed. • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs. • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and managers. • Maintains safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations. • Wears personal protective Equipment as necessary for the job. Qualifications: • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent • 1 year of experience in warehouse environment preferred • Attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position. • Ability to lift up to 50lbs • Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time appropriately. • Ability and experience using powered material handling equipment such as forklifts, etc. • Required frequently: standing, walking kneeling, squatting, bending reaching. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as pick tickets, delivery receipts, invoices, pick lists, BOL, and department manuals. Communication: • Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures. • Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner at all times • Maintains job-related confidentiality. • Resolves conflicts respectfully and in a timely manner, asks for assistance from appropriate supervisor as needed. • Participates actively in department team and all-staff meetings. • Communicates respectfully at all times. • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. • Operates with a sense of teamwork.
