Judge Bans Robbery Defendant From GameStop Stores

JOLIET, IL — The 25-year-old Bellwood man charged with armed robbery at the Joliet GameStop store on Route 59 cannot patronize any GameStop stores in the event he posts his $500,000 bail, Will County Associate Judge Brian Barrett ruled. In addition to setting a $500,000 bail for Jocqui McGee, the judge told McGee that he is forbidden from going inside any GameStop stores, regardless of the community, while his criminal case is pending at the Will County Courthouse. On Dec. 19, McGee entered the Joliet GameStop on Route 59 near Theodore Street armed with a gun, stealing a video gaming system and several video games from the GameStop employee, the criminal complaint states. Afterward, McGee drove to the GameStop store on North Weber Road in Bolingbrook and that's where Bolingbrook police arrested him. At that time of his arrest by Bolingbrook police, McGee had a black .40-caliber semi-automatic Glock pistol, his criminal complaint states. In addition to the armed robbery charge, McGee is charged with unlawful possession of a gun by a person with a revoked firearm owner's identification card. The armed robbery charge is a Class X felony that carries a mandatory 15-year prison enhancement, making the minimum sentence 21 years prison time, the Will County State's Attorney Office of Jim Glasgow informed the judge.
