Topic: Many vulnerable children have biological families for whom substance use/misuse/abuse was a problem. This breakout session will focus on a brief introduction to substance use problems and the impact of various substances on infant and child development so that as parents or caregivers, you may know what signs to look out for in your children. We will also include resources for children who may be exhibiting signs of the impact of maternal substance use. Speaker: Kallio Hunnicutt-Ferguson, PhD, ABPP Kallio is a clinical psychologist at Emory University School of Medicine, with part of her clinical practice focused on working with women struggling with substance use disorders. She also works with the Emory Center for Maternal Substance Abuse and Child Development on the prevention of maternal substance use and its impact on children. Dinner: Dinner will be provided for all registered adults and children.
