Central Avenue: Bring Back our Main Street

MnDOT is in the process of deciding how to treat Central Avenue in the next 10 years. Right now, Central functions as the principal artery-a highway and a road for commuters. It is not a main street for the residents of Columbia Heights. We want MnDOT to prioritize the safety, mobility, and experience of residents over commuters. MnDOT's research has shown that Central, as it is now, is unsafe. We want to bring back our main street making Central the heart of our community, not a highway. MnDOT needs to redesign Central for the safety and livability of Columbia Heights residents.
