Earlier today, the Medical Examiner's Office conducted the autopsy of a 64-year-old man who died at the San Diego Central Jail during the early morning of May 25, 2022. The preliminary manner of death, as determined by the Medical Examiner's Office, is natural cause. When the complete autopsy report is received, the cause of death will be identified.
Out of respect for his family, we are still unable to release the man's name until his next of kin has been located and notified of his passing. The Sheriff's family liaison officer will remain available for any family members located.
