The Raging Grannies are from a generation when protest songs were the heart of every protest, and we're reviving that tradition, bringing songs and energy to marches and rallies. You may have seen/heard us at the Bans Off Our Bodies rally for reproductive rights on May 14 at the Roundhouse, or at the Women's rally in October of last year at the Roundhouse. Or you may have heard us at any of the numerous anti-war, climate change, voting rights, anti-nuke, pro-women, Medicare-For-All, pro-democracy, anti-gun violence, etc., demonstrations and marches in Albuquerque over the years. The New Mexico Raging Grannies have been active for a couple of decades in the Albuquerque area, but now our guitar accompanist has moved to Santa Fe. So we're starting a Raging Granny gaggle in Santa Fe! We choose tunes that people are familiar with so the crowd can sing along, and we re-write the lyrics to fit every event. Would you like to join us? A good singing voice is not a requirement, nor is being a grandmother. There is no obligation to participate every time we sing. Actually, the only requirement to be a Raging Granny is being a middle aged or older woman with righteous anger over the outrageous state of our politics and our world.
