Heavy "amp worship"-style metal band Biomass is currently seeking bassist and guitarist Influences include Sleep, Melvins, Pantera, Swans, Dystopia, Sunn O))), Earth, Boris, Alice Coltrane, MC5, The Stooges, Fugazi, Iron Lung, Eyehategod, Wand, Electric Wizard, Death, Blood Incantation, Thrones, & more. We're into both depressingly heavy and lighter, uplifting sounds - stoner doom, thrash, sludge, drone, heavy psych, post-metal, post punk, death metal, ambient, etc. If you're looking for a band playing strictly evil/dark sounds, look elsewhere. We're looking for well-rounded, quick learning, easy-going, creative players with heavy groove to join band, play current material live, and immediately start working with us on new material. If you can sing too, great, we're working on harmonies. If you understand Iommi/Geezer/Al Cisneros/Matt Pike styles of playing, then you're what we're lookin for. This band was started as an open-ended "psychedelic sound collective" with a revolving lineup and an interest in many styles of music. Our first record "Communion" is on all streaming platforms and is not metal at all, more minimalist/drone/ambient. For now, we want to stick to our heavy material for most live performances, but it is likely that we will explore different sounds/styles in future recordings.
