ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst police responded to five disturbances in the last few days. Here is information from the police reports: Ancy K. Mathai, 42, of Elmhurst, was arrested at 5 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of West Alexander Boulevard on a charge of domestic battery. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, the victim said Mathai injured her during an argument. John Wright, 27, of Hillside, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West Virginia Street on a charge of criminal damage to property. He was released on bond. According to a police report, officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A person told officers that Wright broke a window to the house before running away. He was later taken into custody. Wayne Claudio, 21, of Chicago, was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday at Thornton's gas station, 476 N. York St., on two counts of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, Claudio struck a woman in the face and head. The victim, who had visible injuries, was taken to the hospital. Claudio ran away. He was later found at his house. Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 1 a.m. Monday near Prospect and St. Charles. A man said a woman punched him during an argument, but the woman said the man punched her. The woman called police. Because of conflicting stories and no signs of injury, no arrests were made. Police responded to a fight about 1:30 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of North West Avenue. Due to conflicting statements and mutual combatants, no arrests were made. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt.
