Description
First time posting here. Not sure exactly where to start other than tell you a little bit about myself and what I'm looking to start. Been involved in music recording and live engineering since the late 90's. During that time to present, I also learned how to play guitar. I would consider myself an intermediate player. I don't have a lot of time/experience playing with other musicians. I do have a lot of time practicing and learning songs solo. Prior to covid hitting I was just starting to want to get out and play with others. Most of the ads I saw listed here and still see are for people looking for band members to play live gigs. Of course covid shut that down and I really didn't have any aspirations to play live gigs. Now that we're coming out of the lock down we've all been put through and more folks are starting to reconnect, I find myself wanting to play music with other like minded people. I currently have a well equipped recording studio here on my property and would like to start recruiting musicians that would like to play and perform cover songs from 60's-90's. I have probably around a 100 custom backing track songs and can get access to thousands of well known songs. I don't have the space in my studio to set up and bring in drummers but bass, vocals, keys and guitars up to max 5 persons is workable for live performance. All of the songs are complete so they are easy to mute those parts which would be played live by whoever was present for the session. I would also have the ability to record the sessions for playback and review afterwards. I'll post a link once I have some time to get it sorted with anyone interested who responds wanting to know the names of the songs. I want to make song selection based on whatever everyone is interested in learning or wanting to play. I'm thinking maybe a 3 or 4 hour session once every 2 weeks, weekly if we get a lot of interest/participation. So is this for you? Well, I don't know. If you're looking to join a band with the prospect of playing lots of paying gigs or pursue music from a commercial perspective, probably not. If you're tired of being a bedroom Rockstar and want to get out and play with some new people could be. Please be somewhat proficient in your ability to play your instrument. If your in the beginning stages of learning and can't quite play in time or follow chords then you're not ready for this yet. Of course no one's expecting you to be super advanced or best of the best. Of course real talent never hurts and would always be welcomed. If you're interested and would like to discuss it in more detail please contact me via email or text my cell. Thanks for looking
