This will be a small intimate workshop, open to anyone who has an interest in giving and receiving a good quality massage; perhaps to your partners, friends or clients. Touch is simply a wonderful thing to explore! You do not need to be a professional or even have a desire to become a professional massage therapist to attend. This is for beginners and amateurs, as well as for more experienced touch artists and therapists who just want to delve deeper into the wonder world of touch. You may bring a partner or come solo. Wear comfortable clothes and perhaps something underneath that you are comfortable stripping down to as you receive massage. This workshop provides an opportunity to improve the quality of your touch while practicing giving and receiving on one another. The intention is to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere. All boundaries will be respectfully maintained. I will demonstrate a range of different types of touch and some specific massage techniques for you to try. We will divide up into pairs or groups of 3 to practice on one another. Midway through we will break for food and to socialize for a bit. Feel free to bring something healthy and nutritious to contribute if you’d like. Then we will regroup to practice some more. The focus of this particular workshop will be on the basics of the Art of Touch. This requires more than knowing a cookie cutter massage routine. It requires good communication, adaptability and sensitivity. Everyone is different so we need to practice listening and tuning into the individual or individuals we are touching.
