Newton at Home is a non-profit organization located in Newton, Massachusetts. the mission is to assist older adults to stay in their homes safely and independently for as long as possible. Practical services such as transportation, grocery shopping, handyman tasks, and technical support are provided to members by volunteers to assist in their quest to age in place. The organization also provides a busy calendar of lectures, educational presentations, virtual museum trips and affinity groups which help members deal with the frequent issue of social isolation. Job Description: Understand objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization.Identify grant opportunities that meet Newton at Home's mission.Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on funding requirements of the organization.submit proposals to grant coordinator for approval.Time scheduling is flexible and work may be completed off site.Work on contractual basis and telecommute.Responsible to Executive Director and Board of Directors. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, communications or a related area.Two years experience in grant writing.Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources.Ability to maintain confidentiality with organizational material.Demonstrated computer expertise.Familiarity with grant formats.Demonstrated successful communication skills with organization leadership and grant sponsors.
