Press release from Houston Community College: May 23, 2022 The HCC Dean of Material Science & Smart Manufacturing Alberto Urbina was recognized at the American Welding Society, District 18 meeting on May 19. Urbina received the District 18's 2020-2021 Welding Educator award. He has been a welder since high school and before working in education, he worked as a structural and pipe welder in various refineries and chemical plants across southeast Texas. Urbina currently serves as the Dean of HCC's welding, machining, manufacturing, pipefitting and sheet metal programs. He is actively involved with the American Welding Society and has presented at several of their local events. This press release was produced by Houston Community College.
