Press release from the City of San Antonio: Friday, May 27, 2022 CONTACT: Victor Landa [email protected] SAN ANTONIO (May 27, 2022) – Councilwoman Melissa Cabello Havrda and members of her staff traveled to Uvalde, Texas today at the invitation of Blue Cares, the community support outreach arm of the San Antonio Police Officers Association. "At a time when emotions are raw and searching for direction, comfort and solace become immediate needs," said the Councilwoman. "A strong contingent of San Antonio police and firefighters have been in Uvalde offering investigative and psychological support, and this was a way to let them, and the Uvalde community know that they are not alone." The District 6 team delivered 4 pallets of bottled water and Gatorade, which were generously donated by Walmart, to first responders at one of their command centers. The team then visited the cross memorial in the town square and paid respects. "We thank our first responders who are providing a needed service to a distraught community and will continue to provide support to those who need assistance - families and law enforcement - in the coming weeks."
