Territory Days' road closures and parking information Territory Days, an annual Memorial Day weekend event celebrated for more than 45 years in Old Colorado City, returns Friday-Monday (May 27-30). Please be aware of the following road closures due to the event: Starting at noon Friday through 9:30 p.m. Monday Colbrunn Court, between Colorado and Pikes Peak avenues 25th Street, between Colorado and Pikes Peak avenues Starting at 5 p.m. Friday through 9:30 p.m. Monday 24th Street, between Cucharras Street and Pikes Peak Avenue25th Street, between Cucharras Street and Colorado Avenue26th Street, between Cucharras Street and Colorado AvenueColorado Avenue, between 23rd and 27th streets The public is encouraged to park at Coronado High School (1590 W Fillmore Street) to utilize the free shuttle service available for the duration of the three-day event. Shuttle hours are 9:45 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 9:45 a.m.-6 p.m. on Monday. Overflow parking will be directed to the Rock Ledge Ranch parking lot (3105 Gateway Road), where additional shuttle service is available. Several handicap parking locations are available, including the Colorado Springs City Parking lot, southwest corner of 26th Street and Cucharras Street; 24th Street, between Cucharras Street and the alley; 26th Street between Cucharras Street and the alley; and the Pikes Peak National Bank lot, southwest corner of 24th Street and Colorado Avenue. City fountains, pools and spraygrounds open Memorial Day weekend The Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department is gearing up for summer fun, which includes the opening of several options for swimming and splashing starting Saturday, May 28. From fountains and spray grounds to outdoor pools and lakes, there are numerous ways to make a splash this summer in Colorado Springs. Pikes Peak – America's Mountain, summer hours and summit reservations begin Friday Pikes Peak – America's Mountain summer hours begin Friday, May 27. Hours are 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m. daily, last entry at 6 p.m. Highway access is weather permitting daily. Visitors should call 719-385-7325 for roadway conditions. Timed-entry reservations also begin Friday. With the completion of the Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center, driving to the summit is in high demand. For the convenience of guests planning on driving to the summit, a reservation will be required May 27-Sept. 30. Reserving a spot at the top is designed to make the guest experience more enjoyable and hassle-free. Reservations can be made up to a month in advance at DrivePikesPeak.com (link is external). Acacia Park Visitor Hub opens for season Saturday The Acacia Park Visitor Hub opens Saturday, May 28, providing visitor information and outdoor lawn games. Daily hours are noon-6 p.m. For more information, call 719-385-6521. Patty Jewett and Valley Hi Golf Courses open for Memorial Day play Tee times begin at 6:30 a.m. and can be booked online seven days in advance. All tee times booked online must be paid online at the time of booking. Book tee times at ColoradoSprings.gov/Golf. Tee times can also be made over the phone or in person. Walk on play is permitted if space is available. Sertich Ice Center offers public skating on Memorial Day Sertich Ice center in Memorial Park will be open on Memorial Day, offering the following public skating sessions: matinee skate from noon-1:30 p.m. and public skate from 3-4:30 p.m. Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center summer hours begin Saturday The Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center will operate on summer hours of 8 a.m.–4 p.m. starting Saturday, May 28. Guests at Evergreen Cemetery advised to proceed with caution due to storm cleanup Both Fairview and Evergreen Cemeteries will be open this Memorial Day weekend. Visitors are advised that dangerous conditions exist at Evergreen Cemetery, including downed branches and storm debris. The City is working as quickly as resources allow to remove debris, including on gravesites. However, due to the extensive storm damage impacting roads citywide, the City does not expect storm recovery to be completed by the weekend. Evergreen Cemetery will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Fairview's hours are 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Hours at Evergreen may vary over the coming weeks as cleanup efforts continue.
