Description

We value the genius and experts within our community. Join us for an interactive discussion as we work to elevate the conversation surrounding equity in farm to early care and education and it significance. Why is instilling culture and food in these settings important? What can we do collaboratively to reduce the childhood obesity rates that plague our community. What does culture have to do with anything? How are food, land, and people interwined? How does growing food empower communities? Why must we recognize the significance of the land, what we ingest in our bodies and how it is presented in educational settings? Long before kale was a trending topic, many made collards and okra a rich part of diets. Let's talk about this and more as we break bread in our first Southern Roots community conversation.
