Come see the amazing animals at the SPCA, learn about the background of the SPCA, the responsibility of owning a pet and pet an animal. This is a 1 hour tour.The Bakersfield SPCA is Kern County’s original animal welfare agency and only no-kill shelter. Our vision is that one day, no healthy companion animal will be euthanized for lack of a home, lack of space or lack of compassion.Students should come prepared to ask questions and participate in group discussion.Heartland field trips are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please indicate this when you register your student and let the field trip host know once you complete your registration. *To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.*May I pay using my funds? This event is FREE! Does this trip have any height, weight, and/or age restrictions? All ages are welcome. Only 1 chaperones will be allowed per family due to limited space. Check-in Procedures: Please arrive at 9:45 am for check-in. Meet Sarah Elliott in front of the SPCA. She will be wearing a Heartland t-shirt. Is there on-site parking available?
