a rooftop dance workshop w/live drumming (kick-off)traditional West African music + performancesfood + a mini fashion gala (Nuit du Bazin) depicting attire common to Manding regions of Mali, Senegal, Gambia, and Guineaarts + culture + community + wellness and more...La Culture Mandingue (LCM) is an ongoing traditional arts project presented by Assane Kouyaté, that honors and celebrates ancestral griot traditions of the Manding (Mandinka or Malinké) that date back to the 13th century Mali Empire.
Funding for this event is provided by A&E Atlanta and the Downtown Atlanta Improvement District, and in part by ROOTS and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

NOTE: Rain or Shine event. June can be hot; outdoor spaces will have little to no shade. Wear comfortable clothing/walk with umbrella. If it rains, the event will move indoors. Parking is not free; parking lots/garages are available opposite and in close proximity to the event space.
