Found small dog

My son found a small dog in a dirt lot, clinging to life yesterday. The poor guy was so dehydrated that we thought he had a couple of broken legs, due to the fact that he couldn’t stand up or walk at all. We kept him overnight and throughout the day today, gave him some food and water, but I’m sure someone is missing him. He’s much better now, he’s walking around but will still need some tlc to get all the way better. He looks to me like a chihuahua mixed with maybe pitbull or something similar. He is mostly white but has sporadic redish spots all over him. He has a collar on, but no contact info for the owner, i haven’t bad a chance to take him to get checked for a chip, but i spent the day looking at lost pet ads and now I’m posting here hoping to find his family. If you know who’s dog this is, please have the owner contact me with some of their own photos of him and describe his collar to me so we can get him back to his home. Thank you
