Description
WORCESTER, MA — MassDOT will hold a public meeting this week to prep drivers for a major construction project along I-190 that will take place this summer and fall.
The project involves a highway bridge that cross the Providence and Worcester tracks in an area just south of the former Greendale Mall.
"Traffic impacts will take place between summer and fall 2022 during which travelers on I-190 will experience extended lane reductions and shifts, ramp closures, and detours," according to MassDOT.
After leaving downtown, the Providence and Worcester tracks run along the west side of I-290 and I-190 until the Gold Star Bridge exit, where they cross underneath. The tracks cross back over the highway via a rail bridge near Shore Drive on the north end of Indian Lake.
The public information session on the project will take place virtually on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Find more details about how to join on the MassDOT website.
