Press release from the City of Rochester: May 27, 2022 Mayor Malik D. Evans was joined today by elected officials, city leaders, and business owners Kristina Dinino-Jeffords and Damon Jeffords at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the Roc Cinema movie theater, located at 957 S. Clinton Ave. Roc Cinema is Rochester's only dine-in theater and is located in the second oldest continuously running movie theater in the nation, which opened its doors in 1914 under the name The Clinton. "We are delighted to celebrate the grand opening of Roc Cinema," said Mayor Evans. "We welcome the increased quality of life for our citizens through this investment in our local economy and the iconic landmark. Local businesses like Roc Cinema contribute to the vibrancy of our neighborhoods while creating more employment opportunities for our residents." "We are excited to become part of the Swilburg neighborhood community," said Kristina Dinino-Jeffords. "We look forward to serving patrons in our full-service movie theatre with a menu of exquisite and trendy foods and craft cocktails that can be ordered and delivered right from their theatre seats." The owners renovated the 3,500 square-foot theater into a modernized luxury cinema that features premium sound, oversized leather executive seats, dedicated wait staff, and conference style table tops with dimmable lamps for customers to enjoy their meals and drinks. Roc Cinema can also be rented for events and offers several package options that include customized catering, full bar service and other amenities. The Roc Cinema also offers their marquee for displaying special messages. In addition to showing movies, the cinema also offers a venue for live comedy shows, watching live sporting events or guest speakers. Roc Cinema created approximately 15 additional employment opportunities with the goal of creating 15 to 25 more within the next three years.
