Looking for home for 2 dogs

Description

I am looking for a new home for my grandparents' dogs as my grandparents are no longer able to take care of them. Their names are Bella (F, 70 lbs) and T-Rex (M, 100 lbs). Both are German shepherd/Catahoula mixes from the same litter (6.5 yrs old), and they have never been separated long-term. Both are fixed and chipped, but it has been some time since their last vet checkup. Both dogs have plenty of energy and are used to having lots of space to run and play (my grandparents lived on 2 acres of land and the dogs roamed free most of the day). I think they would do best with a family that can take them on regular long walks and play with them often, and if that need can be met then they may not miss the space as much. They are very sweet dogs, but not always gentle, and they may not be a good fit for families with small children (<9-10 yrs old), as they can get easily riled up and are not always in good control of their play, even if they don't play rough. Families with small pets may also be a poor fit, as the dogs have been known to chase small animals (particularly rodents and lizards), but if kept separate from those pets they may be okay. If you have other dogs, it would be best if they could meet them on neutral ground (e.g. a park) before you take them home, as I do not know how they would handle being around other dogs. There will not be any adoption fee, as I just want to find them a good home as quickly as possible; if I can't find one in the next couple weeks I may have to take them to a shelter, but I am confident that a good home can be found as they really are lovely dogs. I would prefer that they be adopted as a pair, but am willing to split them up if absolutely necessary. In addition to the dogs themselves, you are also encouraged to take their leashes, toys, harnesses, and food off my hands, as I do not have dogs of my own and really have no interest in them myself. Email preferred, but if need be you can ask for my phone number. please address your emails to "Ember", as that is my name.
