The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Omicron Lambda Alpha Chapter Present The monthly OLA UNITY Bike Ride Date: June 12th, 2022 NEW Time: 9:30 am meetup ;10:00 am rollout NEW Location: Anacostia Roller Rink Pavilion by the bicycle kiosks Detailed Information: The OLA Ride will start from Anacostia Roller Rink Pavilion by the bicycle kiosks. This will be a 15 to 20 mile community ride throughout the nation's capital. Meetup time is on 6/12/2022 at 9:30 AM. We will leave at 10:00 AM SHARP! WHEN YOU ARRIVE, GEAR UP. THIS WILL HELP SPEED UP OUR START TIME. Be aware there may not be restrooms at the parking lot at the start of the ride. This ride is intended for Beginners to Intermediate riders, depending on the volume of riders we will split into 2 groups: (Group 1-15 miles) (Group 2- 20 miles) We welcome all riders. Both groups will ride around the DC area and Anacostia Park, but you can ride as many miles as you'd like. We will have bike marshals leading in the front, middle, and back of the ride. For the most part, the roads are pretty flat, EXTRA CREDIT MILES ARE ALWAYS WELCOMED!!! Arrive early to check-in, and be ready to leave on time. 2. HELMETS ARE MANDATORY! NO HELMET, NO RIDE. Have a mask to wear when not riding. 3. CARRY A SPARE TUBE, PATCH KIT, PUMP, WATER BOTTLE, AND SNACK. 4. Carry identification and emergency money. 5. Practice safety and obey all traffic laws. 6. Do not "bike off" more than you can do. Go on rides within your ability, interest, and experience level. 7. If you get a flat tire, you are responsible for changing your tire. 8. MAKE SURE YOUR BICYCLE IS IN PROPER WORKING ORDER BEFORE YOU ARRIVE! 9. FOR SAFETY REASONS, NO MUSIC/HEADPHONES, PLEASE. Need everyone able to hear other riders, cars, etc. A single earpiece for Nav/GPS is okay. To all the Brothers of Alpha that are attending we encourage you to wear your ΑΦΑ cycling kits and gear!!!
