HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center. Kiwi and Sunshine will light up your day. This happy and playful couple are five years old and enjoy time outside of the cage for exercise. They are fine with children and prefer a flight cage so they can jump and fly from perch to perch. Z happens to be a very laid-back indoor cat. He's sweet, loving and will rub your ankles to show you how much he cares. He's front declawed, six years old and has been the only pet so far, so if you have a docile pet at home, they'll need a slow introduction. He also isn't accustomed to children and would need an adult home or a home with older children. Z enjoys being social and napping on laps. He'll even fall asleep in your arms. Cookie can't wait to head to her forever home. She's a gorgeous medium-haired sweetie who may have Siberian cat in her. She's three years old, spayed and prefers quieter, gentler people. She is quite smart and remembers people, so she'll get excited when she recognizes you. She lived previously around other calm cats and can become playful when comfortable. She'll do best in a quiet adult home or one with older children. Beautiful beagle Winona has a sweet soul. At nine years old, she's a bit bashful and tenderhearted. She's sensitive and will need someone with a tender touch. She does enjoy going outside and will follow you around everywhere. She'd do best in a detached home, though, because she has a "beagle voice." At two years old, Sara's quite the cutie with tons of energy. She loves Kongs and finding hidden treats. She plays well with other dogs and would benefit from leash training as she's still young. Max knows sit, down, paw and walks wonderfully on a leash. At 7 years old, he loves to play fetch and go for walks, but also enjoys simply hanging out. Max has lived with another dog and even has a girlfriend doggie at the shelter. His family gave him up because they don't have time for him. He's house trained and quite smart. For more information about adopting these adorable critters or any others currently at the center, call 410-313-2780 or visit the center's site on PetFinder or its Facebook page.
