Press release from the City of Ames: May 26, 2022 The frontage road east of South Duff Avenue and south of Southeast 16th Street will be closed from Tuesday, May 31, to Friday, June 3. This closure is needed to allow the installation of a steel power pole on the concrete foundation in the southeast corner of South Duff Avenue and Southeast 16th Street. Ames Electric Services has contracted with IES Commercial and Industrial and its subcontractors to complete this installation, which is part of the power pole relocation project being completed prior to the upcoming South Duff Avenue and South 16th Street intersection improvements. All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time as delays will occur. Please use alternate routes if available.
