At Fox Music House, Tuffus Zimbabwe will be joined by drummer Kevin Secrest, bassist Frank Duvall and saxophonist Kevin Patton for an evening of trio music. They will be performing arrangements of Edmund Thornton Jenkins and Tuffus Zimbabwe's music. Tuffus Zimbabwe is an acclaimed pianist/composer, musical/creative director of the new Jenkins Music and Arts Academy (JMAA), and resident pianist for the Saturday Night Live Band on NBC. He is also the great-grandson of the Reverend Daniel Joseph Jenkins, founder of Jenkins Orphanage and the world-famous Jenkins Orphanage Band, and grand nephew of Edmund Thornton Jenkins, an accomplished musician and composer in his own right. Attendees will be treated to a light reception of Gullah Cuisine during a meet and greet. A post-concert Q&A will follow with Tuffus and a special guest academic, journalist, and co-founder of the Charleston Jazz Initiative Dr. Karen Chandler.
